PUBLIC NOTICE
RM of Laird No. 404 Public Notice – Proposed Road Closure and Sale
Public Notice is hereby given that the Council of the Rural Municipality of Laird No. 404 (RM) intends to adopt a Road Closure Bylaw under section 13 of The Municipalities Act.
This is a revised public notice regarding the subject proposed Bylaw for road closure and sale. The lands proposed for closure and sale are the same as previously advertised, however, the legal land descriptions of said lands have since been altered in the Land Titles system and notice is re-issued accordingly.
INTENT: The bylaw is intended to provide a notice of intent to permanently close and sell road segments legally described as ORA 13-43-06-W3M Ext. 13, and a portion of ORA 12-43-06-W3M Ext. 12. Said road segments are located at the western end of Twp Rd. 430 near the crest of slope of the N. Sask River
valley.
REASON: The prospective purchaser of the road segments has requested road closure and sale related to its development proposal currently under review by the RM. The desired placement of said development would require road closure to achieve compliance with the regulations of the RM Zoning Bylaw, and it would also correct encroachments of existing development adjacent to the roadway. The subject road segments provide exclusive access to the purchaser’s lands and are used almost exclusively by the prospective purchaser. The developed roadway on the subject land dead-ends at the crest of the slope of the N. Sask River valley. Future extension of said roadway is both impractical and undesirable in the opinion of Council.
PUBLIC INSPECTION: Any person may inspect the bylaw at the RM office during regular business hours, excluding statutory holidays. Draft copies of the proposed bylaw and sale agreement are available from the

PUBLIC HEARING: Council will hold a public hearing on June 12, 2025, at 10:00am in the RM office to hear any person or group that feels negatively impacted by the proposed closures. Council will also consider
